Eight Jane Food 秀八珍卤味: Reviews & Ratings
Most authentic Jian Bing you will find in America. Hot, fresh, aromatic, and delicious - you will not regret trying it. Cash only spot, line can get kind of long. My favorite is the plain egg one without any protein add on. This is the authentic way to enjoy it, if it is your first time I’d recommend this version. That being said, it is hard to go wrong with added protein.
Came to Eight Jane to try their popular jianbing, a Chinese crepe made of mung beans with egg and a crispy cracker inside. Slightly disappointed since it had an odd sweet flavor? But also tried their (surprisingly) less popular rou jia mo or Chinese hamburger — so flavorful, a dense shaobing with soft braised pork inside. Devoured before I could even take a photo haha! Will be back for the hamburger for sure!
How to fill up for $6 in Flushing! With food prices getting higher these days, it’s so nice to see 90’s and millennial pricing on the streets of Flushing There’s always a line here, but it moves relatively fast. Got the jianbing guozi with chicken (they always ask if u r good with all the garnishes: garlic, cilantro, spice, etc), and it was delicious. Of course, luv the textures of fluffy pancake / egg-y softness / crunchy middle. Would recommend if u want a quick and filling bite!
Authentic Tianjin Pancake. Crispy and delicious. We also ordered the sesame beef cake, it could be better if the cake is hot.
I was out walking around early morning and saw a line here (and saw it was highly rated) so thought I would give it a go! There’s no English on the menu so I just asked someone in line and the ladies working and they were super friendly and recommended the jian bing (I chose spicy). Egad I think I have a new favorite food! Despite there being a lot of people the jian bing came out fast… a lovely flavorful crepe wrapped around a crunchy sort of cracker in the middle… scallions and spice. Served very hot and I recommend eating it immediately to get the soft crepe and crunchy middle sensation. The serving is pretty big - I could easily have split it with someone. A lot of food for only $5!!! This is a little hole in the wall (not a sit down place). Cash only. They open super early and at 8am were pretty busy! Will be back for more and maybe a new variety. Love.
Really liked this version of a Chinese classic breakfast food, the legendary Jian Bing煎饼. They include two eggs and go heavy on the crispy layer 脆饼 which made for a solid, handheld feast. The greens were nice and fresh but for me it needs more sauce and could use some pickled 榨菜 to make it more flavorful. Best I’ve had in U.S. though, so it’s definitely worth a stop in to try. Heads up, it’s takeout and cash only.
It has the best food BIG TIME!! If you want a savory breakfast, go here. Recommend.
This food stall is one that you will constantly hear of if you think about Flushing food. This staple hole in the wall spot offers jianbing (traditional Chinese egg crepes) as well as a variety of other breakfast items. They make your jianbing to order and as it gets kind of busy in the morning, it can take around 20 minutes (that's how long mine took). Their popular jianbing includes either the classic crispy wafer or the youtiao for $6. But, I wanted some protein in mine so I got their beef jianbing for $8. The portion was HUGE and honestly I could've split it up between two meals. They added hoisin, scallion, and chili oil into it too for more flavor and it was delicious. Highly recommend this food stall.
